I find inspiration everywhere: sometimes my kids will tell me a funny story or be upset by something happening in their lives. I'll get frustrated by traffic or by how we're going to eat all the leftovers in our fridge. All of these things have inspired ideas, which end up in a story or book proposal. You just have to listen to your inner voice and to everything going on around you. And take notes!
