Goodreads asked Martin Davey:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Martin Davey The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, spoiler alert, all ride horses. One of their mounts is a little on the thin side, one has a bit of a fever, and another has anger management issues. They still need a stable to rest their weary hooves in and a stableboy to look after them. Now, the Four Horsemen are said to appear, as heralds, at the end of days, and if you take a look out of your window, it certainly appears as though those days are nigh, so what's stopping them? In my latest WIP, it is the role of the stableboy to convince the Horsemen that everything is not as bad as it seems or to sabotage their plans. If the Four Horsemen don't ride out then we, the people, have got a bit more time to get our act together. The boy will have to be able to spin a yarn, tell a lie, and think on his feet or it could be curtains for us all.

I'm trying to work out if the story should end badly for us or shows us how stupid we are to keep ignoring the facts, as I said it's just an idea at this stage.
