Martin Davey They shaved her head with great care, collecting the strands in a bowl, she asked them why they treated her so gently and with such compassion and when they stroked her bald head and smiled she smiled back, such kind people, so thoughtful. In the night she awoke, feeling warm and content, something was being slipped around her neck, it felt so warm and soft, and then it began to tighten and choke and she suddenly realised that the noose was golden and smelt of her.
