I am a man of faith. An idea to write comes to mind, and I evaluate whether it fits the character of the God I have come to know and to whom I have surrendered. If I hear Him say (not an audible voice), "Write a novel about King David," I research and write. If I hear, "Write a non-believer version of "The Branch and the Vine," I set about finding a way to do that.
