I tend to feel like writing when I'm busy with other work I need to do. Of course, right? The trick is to follow the whim, put aside what's urgent and work on the important thing. I'm fortunate to do this since I don't have set hours, although I do have deadlines. If I can't get to it, I'll make notes or email an idea to myself.
