Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Andr Moș I like to try to apply common themes or mundane characters to future situations. It's always a mental exercise to imagine what types of challenges they may face that are similar or different than we do. Technology, setting and social structure may change, but human nature doesn't.

When world building for a space based story, it's important to me to not borrow too much from any other "world", or if I do, I try to come at it from a different angle so as to make it unique. It tends to be groan-worthy to read a book that uses common technologies throughout the genre: "warp" or other faster-than-light travel technology, alien invasion, clear cut protagonists/antagonists, etc.
