How do you get inspired to write?

Janis Hill Most of my stories come to me as mental images and snippets while I'm letting my mind wander while doing the everyday mundane things I do (ironing, gardening, cooking). Sometimes it's a word or phrase said to me, sometimes it's from a bit of news I overhear.

Basically, I've been making up stories inside my head all my life and been writing them down for as long as I could write. I'm hoping it's not too cheesy to say that maybe that means life itself inspires me to write.
