Always write what you want. There will be people that have a lot to say and it won't always be positive. There's something to learn from the negative feedback but said feedback is not a reason to change who you are. Never stop growing as a writer. Never try to fill anyone else's shoes. As long as it's the story you want to write, you're winning.
