Goodreads asked Kevin Revolinski:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Kevin Revolinski In the middle of a work, I skip around to other scenes that at that moment might grab me or seem clear. I also might just put "garbage" down just to get words out. Nothing's permanent at that point anyway.

To get something new started? Take any old scenario, catchy phrase, even a random snatch of dialogue, and write it down. See where it goes. Often what happens is after a paragraph or even a page, something starts to take shape and direction. Plenty of stories and articles have started that way for me. The funny thing is, most of the time, I end up cutting out that bit that got it started. Like discarding a spent match by the side of your bonfire.
