Hi Gail, 1. You were one of my favourite authors growing up, and have been a huge inspiration to me since! 2. This is probably a shot in the dark, but would you ever agree to beta read for a random goodreads follower? I have a finished manuscript and would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE a professional opinion to see if it has what it takes to become something "real", before I embarrass myself by sending it to publishers.

I'm sorry, but I'm going to say no to your request. However, there are free-lance editors with publishing experience who specialize in what you're looking for. Or you can submit your manuscripts to agents, and it will be read for free. You'll need an agent anyway in the publishing process.
