Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Lee Clark The character, Matthew Paine, was born in my imagination as a bit of a tribute to my son and my brother. Neither of them are in the medical profession and neither live in the small town I chose as their residence, but some attributes of the Matthew character should be entirely familiar to both of them.

The opening scene with the naked woman splayed invitingly across the good doctor's examining table was just that -- a scene that came to mind -- and I knew I had to write about it.
