I got the idea for "A Space Story" years ago while working long, lonely shifts as a projectionist in a movie theater. I wasted the long hours in the booth daydreaming about what an alien might think of Earth, if all he had to go on were our movies and music. Maybe he would be inspired to visit and even become a hero himself. It snowballed from there.
