Goodreads asked Laura Gilfillan:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Laura Gilfillan I go back to where things went bad and start writing an alternate way that the story could go from there. Sometimes I try several different ideas, until something takes off again. It seems to me that the way to deal with a writing block is to just start writing, anything, even if it's junk, until good ideas can start to flow again. It's just that, I think that a block is a useful indication that something has gone wrong with the storyline, and needs to be fixed.
