Goodreads asked Nia Shea:

How do you get inspired to write?

Nia Shea When something happens, a line appears in my head and I'll write it down. Usually, it flows there and then. If not, I know it's likely never going to get written; when it comes to poetry and writing, I'm very much an all or nothing person.
Inspiration usually comes from people in my life or events/ things that happen to me. If I can't relate to it in some level then it doesn't feel natural, it feels like a robot has read other poetry and vomited up some of the most common topics.
