Goodreads asked Leigh Raventhorne:

How do you get inspired to write?

Leigh Raventhorne I've wanted to write for as long as I can remember. In grade, middle, and high school I wrote short stories. I loved my creative writing and english classes in high school. Then adulthood hit and there was never enough time or energy, it seemed. I would often start a story and not quite know where to go with it. I'm a 2X breast cancer survivor (2002 and 2018). The second time I was diagnosed, it hit me even harder mentally. I decided I wanted to start crossing things off my bucket list. Fifty was coming up fast and my goal was to write something - anything - before that deadline. By chance, I met my mentor through work. We co-wrote the first two books and he keeps me from veering too far off the path (I ramble when I write), brainstorms with me, and is slowly teaching me the ropes. I keep working to improve my craft and learn.
