How do you get inspired to write?

Helen McCabe I was inspired to write from reading at an early age, maybe 6.. My mother was a printer's reader and she brought books home every night and I read them to her to help with her work. That's where I discovered reading and then writing were everything I wanted at that time, and have remained so ever since. Later, I was an assistant librarian and then had access to hundreds of books, which I started to read as well. That's why I wanted to write them too.
