Goodreads asked Julie Sneed Womack:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Julie Sneed Womack If I'm not feeling a certain scene, I will go somewhere else in my manuscript. There's always something I can work on, something I can edit to get me back into the groove. The answer to my "blocked" scene may come to me later (sometimes days later) when I'm taking a walk or driving and my subconscious is working on it. One of the most important lessons I learned when I was a screenwriting major in college was that I didn't have to write the perfect sentence before I moved on to the next one. That's what the delete key is for. I'm going to edit whatever I'm working on countless times before I even show it to someone, so I need to remember to just keep at it, just keep sitting down in front of my laptop.
