How do you get inspired to write?

Dee Hahn Inspiration isn't always predictable for me, so I've learned to seize the moment when I have an idea. I plot and write snippets on my phone while riding on a plane, or I stop to write ideas down while on a horseback riding adventure. I'll note down some ideas before bed, or while I'm waiting for my children's school bus. Occasionally inspiration will strike during a very boring meeting-- I'll excuse myself to go to the bathroom, and then jot some story ideas. Anything it takes to get the ideas down!
When I do have an entire day to write (which is a rare, magical beast), I find that walks in the forest allow me to think creatively.
