How do you get inspired to write?

Alessa Kelly A lot of the time, places inspire me to write. Travelling is in my blood, and some places just give you instant, positive connection. That's when I will start observing the people and their interactions closely, imagining what life is like for them. Then, when opportunities arise, I'll talk to those who are willing to share their stories with me. I use them as inspiration, not really as a source to actually write my stories. I like to see them as prompts to ask myself "what if..." Let's face it, I write romantic suspense with plots that aren't really everyday experience.
