Question from release day interview with Sapphire Ink Press: What was the best part and the hardest part about writing a spinoff?

The best part was definitely following Keenan around on his journey.
As for hardest part, it wasn't as hard as one would think, but only because it's set 15 years prior to the events of The Techno Mage. But at the same time, I had to do a lot of research to make sure that the events of The Techno Mage lined up with the ones in Rise of the Sky Pirate, and vice versa. I have a few Easter Eggs in Rise of the Sky Pirate that people who have read The Techno Mage will pick up on, and I had to make sure they aligned.
