Sarah Pennington Interesting question. Unfortunately, the answer seems to be . . . it doesn't really. At least not in ways that I can readily identify. The exception is a couple of books in my backlog, which are partially or mostly set not just in my home state of Virginia, but in my (at that point) hometown! Otherwise, any influence is probably just things that I assume are normal and universal but might be less universal than I think, in which case you and my other readers are more likely to pick up on them than I am!
