Hi Juliet I saw a post from you a little while ago about you not being very motivated to write due to the worlds issues. I was wondering if you are feeling more positive? Are we going to have a new book soon? You have been my favorite author for years now. And I just want to say thank you and wish you the best.

Hi Jennifer and thanks for the good wishes. I am a year or more behind my usual schedule, so there won't be a new book in 2022. I am still hoping to have something done in time for publication in 2023. My agent sees problems in the first propsal I sent him (the Baba Yaga series) and thinks it would need major changes to be marketable. I have two other possible projects, both stand-alone novels that are continuations of earlier series - he'll need to see those and decide if either is likely to interest publishers. They're both just at the proposal stage right now. I am very keen to get on with writing an actual book (!) but not confident enough to do that without a reasonable idea that it would be publishable. As soon as I have some news I will post on my Facebook author page (Juliet Marillier Official Fan Page) and on my website blog. I'm not using the Goodreads blog any more.
My state of mind: slightly better than it was a couple of months ago and thank you for asking.

Hi Juliet, I hope you are well. Several months back I stumbled upon your series, Blackthorn & Grim, and it became one of my favourites. I am rest assured that by now, you're well aware of your gift for creating rich worlds and characters, but I still want to thank you for them. I've now read Heart's Blood, and Wildwood Dancing, and they're also remarkable. What are your favourite novels or series? Warmest wishes.

Juliet Marillier:
Juliet, I LOVE your books. I want to live in them. Your writing is so beautiful and so immersive and just really so wonderful. I wondered if you have ever thought about or been approached regarding other media for your stories. Movies? T.V.? I have thought, while reading Blackthorn and Grim, what a great television series that would make.

Your Blackthorn & Grim series moved me with it's genius character building and storytelling. I'm wondering if you've read any good fantasy lately that has shown you as wonderful of a time? Looking to the person who has written some of my all time favourite novels for a rec. What fantasy novels have had you clutching the book tearfully to your bosom with gratitude? 😁 (Because that's me, holding your books).
