Goodreads asked Richard Hester:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Richard Hester Just start writing. That's probably too pat an answer, but when I was writing Hold, Please, I would wake up in the morning sometimes without any idea whatsoever about what I was going to say. There was an expectation among my readership that I'd publish an essay every day, so that's what I did. I learned to stop worrying about whether they were good enough. I would go so far as to say that the ones I was most worried about often turned out to be the most popular.
