The Magi Menagerie was written to be savored. It's got a lot of world building with Easter eggs and clues sprinkled throughout and if you read it too fast, you'll lose a lot of that. Honestly, I'd say it's medium-paced but the sequel, The Magi Manifesto goes a lot faster.
