Why did Erica not want to try and save Paul Lee in Spy School Goes South? Doesn't that go against her morals because she was just about to let him die? He may be a criminal but I still don't think he deserved the harsh treatment he would have gotten if Ben hadn't intervened.

I was wondering how do you develop your characters to make them so relatable, as if I have met them in real life? And how do you write your mysteries, they always have the twist ending that I never think about, (Those are my favorite kind of mysteries!) Thank You!!
