Goodreads asked Cathryn McIntyre:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Cathryn McIntyre I spend the off time indulging in all my other interests, the ones I feel guilty for doing when I could be writing. When I am at a point where I really can’t write then I find I am better off to just let myself go and play for a while. I throw myself into the things I like to do, like genealogy, or astrology, or I head out exploring – go somewhere I love to go, visit an antique shop or a bookstore, or sit by the ocean for a while. All the time I am stockpiling the experiences, the feelings, the sounds, the thoughts, so I can use them later when the desire and the ability to write returns.
