Elizabeth Faustina
Elizabeth Faustina asked Gail Carson Levine:

Was "The Fairy's Mistake" a retelling of anything? It reminded me of "Mother Holle" by Brothers Grimm!

Gail Carson Levine It's a retelling of "Toads and Diamonds."

Pamela Bronson
Pamela Bronson asked Gail Carson Levine:

I just finished rereading A Tale of Two Castles - thanks for the good read! I like how you turned the fairy tale on its head and made a whodunit out of it, too. I'm curious - how did you come up with the names Jonty Um, Menore, and so on? I think I can guess where you got Frair and Maydsin, and maybe Thiel's name, too.

Elizabeth Faustina asked Gail Carson Levine:

Do you agree with Ella or Mandy that fairies shouldn't use big magic?

A Goodreads user
A Goodreads user asked Gail Carson Levine:

I really like to write, but I've found a very hard time finding a good writing contest, that's free, not a scam, etc. Do you know any good ones? Thanks so much!
