I don't know why, but I kind of imagined Captain Valithor from the DWT looking similar to yourself—but more medieval. Was he based on a male mentor you had in your life as a young man, or is he someone you aspired to be when you would reach his age?

Hi, Marie! I suppose physically, especially as I'm getting older and grayer, the good Captain might look a bit like me. I didn't base Valithor on a specific mentor but rather more of the type of mentor I thought a reluctant personality might need for authentic motivation. My son had a football coach who was a bit tough on his team, and some of the kids couldn't handle it and quit. My son, on the other hand, would have run through a wall for that coach. I wanted Valithor to be the relentless type who would forge heroes through fire. Oh, and I got most of his dialogue from a Shakespearian insult kit. lol

My daughters love your Myridian Contellation series. I see on Goodreads that Mirror of Souls came out Feb 2021. We cannot find it anywhere. Any way that we can purchase a paper copy? I see that the covers are changing. My daughters were able to get books 1 and 2 cheaper because of this. They would love to add Forsaken Continent and Mirror of Souls to their collections. Thank you!
