Imagination (as with most fiction writers), but also LIFE. I try to weave true events into my stories because they are the best. Many times the idea of a book will come to me somewhere in the middle of a character's conflict and I began to study how to help them. This is where the story begins to build. Helping my characters overcome provides tremendous inspiration.
