Cassandra
Cassandra asked Andrew Varga:

Did you have the series mapped out when you started, or have you let the characters lead you to the end of the path?

Andrew Varga There are two types of writers--plotters and pantsers. Plotters carefully plot all their ideas and characters out in advance, and then just flesh out the details. Pantsers just start typing and see where the story takes them. (They write by the seat of their pants) I'm definitely a pantser. When I first started the series, I knew the main three characters: Dan, Sam, and Victor, and I knew that the first book would be 1066, but everything else I just kind of made up on the go. In some cases I did take a wrong turn from a story perspective, and I'd end up with the writing equivalent of painting myself into a corner, but I would then back it out and go ahead in a different direction.
