Goodreads asked E. Chris Ambrose:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

E. Chris Ambrose Writing every day will help you maintain the energy of the work, but the most important thing about your first novel is finishing it. So often, I meet aspiring writers who have begun a dozen books (but never finished) or are a few chapters into their project and are looking for advice about agents and query letters.

Finishing a novel teaches you so much about structure, plot, character arcs, stamina... Often, the first book you finish won't be the first one you sell, but that's okay--that's how we learn!
