Goodreads asked Michelle Rabe:

How do you get inspired to write?

Michelle Rabe I make writing a daily practice. I try to write at least one thousand words a day, but sometimes I don't make it, and that's okay. Sometimes the words flow and other times they don't. I work in a space that has minimal distractions, for me music and movies I've seen before work to help tune out the rest of the world. I also try to work at roughly the same time every night, for me that's between midnight and 3am.

If I'm feeling blocked, I change things up. Luckily I have a laptop so I can grab that and go to a coffee shop or library to work. If I find that I'm still having trouble, I'll try writing longhand. If that doesn't work I'll take a walk, go take photos even color to change my mindset.
