Wasn't so much a mystery as it was the event that triggered what I thought was a pretty original plot for an espionage story, albeit, it had a more personal drama carrying you through it. I was adopted, met my birthmother, and lost my dad all in the same year. So, I wrote my debut novel, THE NEED TO KNOW.
