How do you get inspired to write?

Todd H. Davis I didn't have a longstanding desire to write. The inspiration came suddenly. I watched a movie called Playing with Fire, with John Cenna and Brianna Hildebrand. In it, three orphaned siblings get picked up by a firefighting team. By the end of the movie (spoiler alert), firefighter captain Jake develops fatherly feelings for the kids. I had also watched to may love stories with my wife and thought, how could this story about orphans and rescuer be changed to be a love story? Increase the age of the oldest sibling, lower the age of the rescuer. Then what? I started writing a plot summary. At first it was just a thought exercise. But I kept going back to add to it. Eventually, I got The Trailer Behind the Garage.
