Goodreads asked B. Roman:

How do you get inspired to write?

B. Roman I don't remember a time when I didn't want to write. Starting with essays in school, poetry, lyrics, and so forth. Of course there were many periods of time when I didn't write at all. I would feel exhausted from all the hours, days, months and years of dedication to a project, or multiple projects. Then it would dry up, so I would move on to something else, some other art form (singing, dancing) to feed the writing muse. But once I latch onto a project, inspiration is only a part of the process. You have to work and write and edit until it's done. Then, you rewrite and edit until it's done again.
