I loved your book and somewhere it instantly touched me because both my parents are originally from Jaipur. I would love to share the experience of reading it with my mum. Is the Henna Artist going to be available in Hindi soon?

Although the entire trilogy has been published in English in India (the upcoming third novel will also be published in English), I am often asked that question about Hindi, Tamil and Telegu. The translations depend on the publishers in any given country. Over 25 countries have translated the books in their languages, but since so many Indians speak, read and write in English, the Indian publisher hasn't translated the books in native languages. I would recommend pressing the publisher to do so and you may have a positive outcome :-)

Your writing is so immersive Alka. Such a treasure to read. This senior woman in a small town in Ontario Canada has never travelled to exotic places like India but with your narrative I feel the warmth, smell the scents as you describe them, see the beautiful saris and wish to experience them one day. My only question is what books have inspired you to become the kind of author you are?

I just started reading The Secret Keeper of Jaipur and CANNOT put it down, I'll likely be finished within a day! Where did you get the knowledge/idea of these healing plants and herbs? Did you spend a lot of time in Shimla?
