Goodreads asked Dean M. Cole:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Dean M. Cole I work with an outline. Each element of it represents a scene. When I write, I place the characters in a physical location that works for said scene. Then, I write down the thoughts or actions of my character. Soon, the story begins to write itself. My favorite part is when I create an aspect or background issue that, later, ties into an element of the plot in an unexpected way. I call it synergistic synchronicity.
