Goodreads asked Howard G. Franklin:

How do you get inspired to write?

Howard G. Franklin I love writing, and my inspiration flows naturally from life circumstances. By that I mean that I write about what I observe in the world and reflect upon. I have written a lot of poetry, most of which arose spontaneously from something I observed or read about that struck a chord inside me and generated the need to express my thoughts and feelings about a person, or an event, or simple observation. My travel memoir, An Irish Experience, was inspired my travels in Ireland in the Fall of 2001, during which my notebook overflowed with observations about the people, architecture, history, geography, art, music, and dance because I simply fell in love with the country, and when I returned home I needed to express my thoughts and feelings about it.
