How do you get inspired to write?

Stephen Buchmann Sitting in nature is the best way. I find a quiet place, like on a boulder in a desert canyon, or alongside a stream and let the thoughts come. I often write down ideas on slips of paper, or better yet, on my trusty Mac laptop if I have it with me. I'm inspired by the sights and sounds of nature, the calls of birds and the buzzing of bees on flowers. I will also save the moment by taking photographs on my DSLR or cell phone camera.
