Goodreads asked Louis Berry:

What mystery in your own life could be a plot for a book?

Louis Berry On our first date, my wife told me the story of her great-grandparents who were murdered in Jacksonville, FL on November 25, 1936. All she knew of the case was that it was a contract-killing and the man who contracted the murder was the first in the US to be convicted of murder. he appealed all the way to the US Supreme Court, and lost. Twenty three years later, as I've reached a semi-retired state, I've begun pursuing my passion for writing. My wife suggested I look into the Surrency Affair. Once I began looking into all the facts and circumstances of the murder, it was obvious there were other forces at play. The finished novella is called, The Surrency Affair, and is listed in my book section.
