Cheyanne Nile asked Adele Griffin:

How is writing for adults different than writing for young adults?

Adele Griffin When I wrote contemporary realistic YA, I felt like at the end of the book, I left my characters pointing out in the direction of a great big horizon, aka all their life left to live. Writing into the story of a woman in her late thirties meant discovering a character who has made a lot of big life decisions.
That was a big shift for me-- how much road Nora Hammond already traveled by the time I picked up her story.
