A. Burleyson
A. Burleyson asked David Burleyson:

How do you develop ideas for your stories, and how do you decide with ones are novel-worthy?

David Burleyson Great question! The initial idea will just come to me, usually at the most random times. Then it's just a matter of brainstorming to develop the idea into a story. I find that asking myself questions helps.

As far as deciding if an idea is novel worthy or not - I feel like the idea will answer this question for you when brainstorming. Often times an idea that you initially thought would be a great book ends up just being a feature in another book idea.
