A Goodreads user asked Melissa Brayden:

How do you write your books? Do you start at chapter one, then two, three...Etc, or do you write scenes as they come to you and weave them together later?

Melissa Brayden Fin,
I write scenes in order - linear storytelling. It's easier for me to keep everything organized and to remember who knows what at any given moment. When I get an idea for a scene it's not yet time for, I'll stop and makes notes in my phone and refer to the notes later. However, once the novel is written, I have no problem rearranging scenes or adding one in the middle. All bets are off in editing. Thanks for the question. -- Melissa
