Goodreads asked RaeLynn Fry:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

RaeLynn Fry Write no matter what. It doesn't matter if people doubt you or don't like what you've written. You're not writing for them, you're writing for you. That being said, develop a thick skin. It may not matter if they don't like your work, but that doesn't mean that they don't have something beneficial to say about improving your work. Just don't take it personally. Look at it from a business standpoint, take away what you agree with and make your work better.

I remember the first piece of feedback I got from my very first book. It hurt so bad when I first read it, but it was so true! I think about it now and laugh. The reviewer said that the first scene of my book was like "sitting through the worst traffic imaginable". Meaning it was long, and boring, and weighted down with stuff that wasn't needed. It may have hurt my ego, but it improved my writing.
