A Goodreads user asked Holly Davis:

Hey Holly! I'm here to ask: what was your most challenging time of writing? Were there any scenes that you cried while writing? And what gave you the motivation to write?

Holly Davis Thank you for submitting the first question to me as an official author! :D My most challenging time of writing was in 2021-- we were still coming off of the 'grand panini of 2020', I was burnt out from work, and I had no energy to work on edits for A Diamond Bright and Broken. I was in a depressive rut for a long time but my writer friends and getting a new job helped turn me around and back to accomplishing my writing goals!

I've always cried when I've killed off characters. I try to picture myself in my MC's place so I can evoke true emotions in my writing so those scenes are always emotional for me.

And my motivation to write was my twin sister-- we read each other's stories as each chapter was completed. It was fun to be creative, but I think she's what kept me going because I knew there was at least one person in the world who wanted to find out what would happen next. :)
