Lisa asked:

Where William’s story is set? Erica calls it Northeastern California which isn’t really how I’ve ever heard any part of California referenced, and then she says his ghost town is three hours from Mono Lake in the middle of nowhere - maybe Humboldt County? Any ideas?

judith No way to pinpoint the location of Fortune, the fictitious ghost town in this story. After passing Mono Lake, William could have traveled 3 hrs. in literally any direction, & ended up anywhere! The only known ghost town in that area is Bodie, north of the lake in Mono County. All we know is he traveled a thousand miles from Denver, & Fortune was 15 mi. off whatever highway he was on. (Not Humboldt though, that's on the west coast nowhere near the lake.)
