Goodreads asked Georgia Ede:

Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

Georgia Ede There's a longer answer in the book's introduction, but the short answer is that I started experimenting with my diet back in 2007 to try to address some IBS symptoms that I had started having in my early 40s, and not only did my new diet resolve the IBS (and fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, and migraines that had also descended upon me in my early 40s), but it also brought noticeable improvements to my mood, concentration, productivity, and mental energy as well. This experience led me to begin studying nutrition science for the first time (psychiatrists do not receive any nutrition education). The more I learned about food and the brain, the more motivated I became to write a book so that I could share the fascinating (and empowering) truths I was discovering with as many people as possible.
