S.I. Foote Read and write. Engage in storytelling. Doesn't matter what you read. Could be the subtitles in a video game. Could be a comic. Could be a fanfiction. Just keep reading and writing. Practice your craft. Learn from the processes forged over the millennia when it comes to crafting a story. The more you write, the better you will get. It's like working at any other skill, or getting in a workout at the gym. You have to start or you will never improve.
