Goodreads asked Alex Hunter:

How do you get inspired to write?

Alex Hunter Most of my ideas for stories seem to start with one of those 'What would happen if...' moments. Occasionally though, out of the blue the title of a book comes to me, and then I find myself inventing a story to go with it. I have nothing but admiration for those who work out all their plot structure before they start writing - I haven't been able to do that. Instead, I begin with a clear idea of one particular aspect of the story (the beginning, ending, or a significant event) and perhaps one key character, and then allow the characters to lead me through the plot. They seem to have a better idea of what's going to happen than I do!
