Goodreads asked Alexis D. Craig:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Alexis D. Craig I read a lot, and I try to write a few sentences daily. I get hung up, sometimes, and while I read and listen to music, I meditate on the next major plot point I need to reach. I turn it over in my head as to why the characters need this to happen, who it benefits, what consequences does it engender, and how do I see the scene opening. Usually, by answering one or all of those question am I able to pull myself out of a blocked frame of mind.

Sometimes, I look at the scene I'm in and ponder how it would go from another character's point of view. That provides me with dialogue and occasionally entirely new avenues of exploration that also separate me from the blocked space in my head.
